From TV Cabinet to Buffet Cabinet
I ran across a beautiful large TV cabinet at a thrift store for just $40! Although I don’t need a TV cabinet, I do however need a place to store and display all of my serving ware. The TV cabinet is deep and tall and turned out to be the perfect piece of furniture to hold all my dinning pieces!
This is what I used to set up my dinning room serving and display cabinet:
• A large TV cabinet
• A TV cart assembled without the center shelf back and wheels. Or a stand alone shelf (something that will fit inside the top part of the cabinet)
• Wood grain contact paper (if you need the match the inside of the cabinet)
• 3-light task and accent lights
• Extremely strong mounting tape
I used a TV cart without the wheels to act as shelves inside the unit.
Since the cart was black, I covered it with a wood grain colored contact paper so that it would look like it was part of the cabinet. I mounted the lights at the top of the cabinet and on the top and inside the box.
Then I arranged my chafing and silver dishes on the top shelves and my dishes, platters, linen and table runners on the bottom shelves.
I founding a new use for something that may be considered out-dated allowed me to have everything I need to serve my guest all contained in one big beautiful place!
