DIY – Storage / Organizational Boxes

Here’s a FREE-I-Y (something you can make for free using items you already have lying around the house.)  I made these pretty storage boxes with old package boxes and bed sheets!

You can use any fabric you’d like; a beautiful curtain material, upholstery,  shower curtains, even some nice papers can work. If you’re not using it anymore, why not transform it into something you can use. Here’s how I made my custom boxes:

1) Select boxes that will fit in the space you need.  You can cut them so that they are all the same hight.   2) Select two different fabrics, one for the outside and one for inside the box. Use a hot glue gun around the edges to tack the material to the outside and 3) stretch half way inside the box.

4) Use the second fabric for the inside of the box. Hot-glue and tack the material to the side and bottom corners. 5) Cut and fold the inside material around the top outside of the box so that there is a 1-2 inch border around the box. 6) I sewed a couple of silver shower curtain rings on the edges of the box to add some bling.

I used my brand new pretty boxes to store all my serving items in my dinning room buffet cabinet!
